Esse livro basicamente é a história da Mona Lisa que eu já havia lido em outro livro, mas resumida e com muito mais fotos e imagens variadas, não só da pintura em questão, mas de outras obras de arte, além de fotos de momentos históricos (como a entrada de Hitler em Paris). Livro excelente, muito indicado.

Um livro pequeno e divertido. Gostei da premissa: como pintores famosos teriam pintado a Mona Lisa. Eu adorei a parte sobre Van Gogh. Além disso, o texto explica os vários movimentos artísticos de maneira simples, o que facilita o entendimento para quem não conhece muito sobre arte. Indico.

Esse livro foi um dos meus principais achados. Guardei na estante esperando uma hora certa para ler, e que época melhor seria do que o ano em que a autora faria 160 anos? Uma publicação antiga, que traz não só uma pequena biografia de Beatrix mas também muitas das suas artes, algumas de seu pai (uma grande influência na sua arte de ilustrar). Eu amei esse livro demais, totalmente recomendado.

Um livro com várias artes de artistas diferentes, retratando Alice e seu mundo de maravilhas. Colorido não somente por conta das imagens, esse livro tem uma diagramação excelente, sobrepondo imagens e textos em uma combinação meio “louca” (condizente com o tom da história de Alice).

Um verdadeiro achado. Apesar de Alice ser um clássico, a história em si mesma eu fui conhecer alguns anos depois do filme da Disney, então a animação era a minha referência de imagem. Esse livro consegue ser muito variado, apresentado ilustrações de várias publicações do livro. Algumas são bonitas, outras eu nem acho que condizem com uma história infantil. De qualquer forma, é uma publicação excelente. Digna de colecionador.

Mais um livro com artes de vários ilustradores do clássico de Lewis Carroll. Cada capítulo fala de um artista, o que eu achei ótimo, porque assim dá para conhecer o processo artístico de cada um. Não são muitos artistas, mas sobre uma história cujo ilustrador oficial se fala mais do que qualquer outro, eu achei ótimo incluírem Sir John Tenniel nele. Mais uma preciosidade para a minha estante.

Um livro excelente sobre artistas mulheres, algumas que eu nunca tinha ouvido falar. Além de trazer biografias sobre as artistas, também fala das inspirações e das formas de composição delas. Amei os exercícios sugeridos, se tivesse algum talento para pintura e desenho, juro que tentava alguma coisa. Leitura recomendada.

Mais um livro que tenho guardado aqui faz tempo. O episódio II da trilogia prequel de Star Wars gera muita discussão ainda hoje entre os fãs, mas é um dos que eu mais gosto, pelo simples motivo de mostrar mais Padmé Amidala e Naboo, um dos cenários mais lindos da trilogia. O livro que descreve a criação dos figurinos, lugares, objetos não deixa nada a desejar, pelo contrário. Recomendado.

Marking first anniversary of 'Connect, BTS’, Big Hit Entertainment is sharing an e-book looking back on the exhibitions and fonts created exclusively for the project. 

Eu soube desse livro procurando outros livros sobre o BTS. Acabei descobrindo que o projeto que originou ele fez parte do cronograma para o comeback do álbum Map of the soul: 7, e que foi lançado quando o mundo começava a sofrer os efeitos da COVID. 

Do projeto, 22 artistas fizeram parte e ocorreu em Seul, Nova York, Londres, Berlim e Buenos Aires. As exposições foram gratuitas e abertas ao público. Gostei bastante.

Toda a história, bem como a rica e variada herança do estilo é comentada e analisada em detalhe pela autora. O guia também inlcui roteiro de visitação que reúne desde suntuosos palacetes, edifícios públicos e estabelecimentos comerciais até simples fachadas residenciais, gradis, peças de mobiliário e decoração, sempre de inspiração art nouveau.

Eu ainda me lembro como se fosse ontem do lançamento desse livro. A minha turma de Biblioteconomia da UFPA havia se reunido para ir no dia, graças a indicação de um de nossos professores. O tema do Art nouveau foi um que sempre me interessou, apesar de não ter me aprofundado no assunto nos meus trabalhos de faculdade, então foi um prazer imenso ler este livro, que não só foca na minha cidade como foi escrito por alguém dela, uma professora muito conceituada que infelizmente já faleceu. A primeira parte é sem dúvida a minha favorita, e foi onde eu me “perdi” (de um jeito bom) na leitura, porque a autora aborda de forma resumida mas não menos detalhista, a história do art nouveau, citando exemplos de artistas e seus próprios estilos. O livro também é recheado de fotos lindas de objetos, locais e monumentos que representam o art nouveau. 

Palacete Passarinho, antiga residência da família César Santos Passarinho, onde hoje funciona um restaurante.

A segunda parte fala da influência francesa nos mais variados aspectos da cultura paraense e aborda a época da belle epoqué, enquanto a terceira fala do estilo evidenciado na arquitetura. Longe de ser um mero guia, esse pequeno livro traz uma verdadeira aula de história da Belém no fim do século XIX. Completamente indicado.
